The Grinch Who Stole Istanbul

Go get em, Grinch!

Well, it’s official. My twins are addicted to Jim Carrey’s version of The Grinch Who Stole Christmas. They want to watch it. Over. And Over. Again. And I’m starting to feel as if burning Whoville to the ground may be the only option for me.

But on to the important thing. I wanted to send a quick note to let you know that today is the last day of the $0.99* sale of Assignment: Istanbul. Tomorrow it goes to its regular price of $2.99. Save yourself a couple of bucks and grab it cheap while you can!

The Luckiest Assignment

Ooooh, now that’s a sexy cover!

I’m super excited to announce that the next Assignment book will be set in…DUBLIN! My co-writer (S.J. Varengo) and I are giving the female agents of SpyCo full run of this one, as they face the craziest and most dangerous adventure yet.

And one of them might not make it out alive…

This adventure will also introduce a thrilling new character. I really believe this one will be the best Assignment adventure yet! I don’t have a release date, but will let you know as soon as I know.

In other news, I’m well on the mend from my tooth saga of yesterday. A little pain medication helped out and now I can barely tell anything happened. Or maybe that’s the brandy talking. Either way, I’m in a better place. So much better, that I put in some work on both the new Assignment book and the upcoming Serenity #5, which is scheduled for a February release. Not only that, but I began work on a super secret project that I think might just be a darn lot of fun. I will keep you posted!

I’m Enameled With You

I was completely calm during the entire procedure. Those screams were simply part of my normal morning ritual.

While enamel is the hardest substance in the body, I still managed somehow to crack it on one of the most difficult teeth to reach–a molar way back by the wisdom teeth.*

This bit of misfortune resulted in a filling, which is not the way I prefer to begin my Friday mornings. It’s quite a distance down the list, actually, bracketed by sliding down a fifty-foot razor into a bucket of rubbing alcohol and wearing an old, body-conformed t-shirt backward.

But enough of my whining. Until later. For now, I wanted to say thank you to everyone who participated in the 24-hour $0.99 sale of Assignment: Alaska! We zoomed up the charts and hit #10 in our category, which is a pretty darn good launch.

If you still need to get Assignment: Alaska, you certainly can! It’s still at the very reasonable price of $2.99, and readers are calling it “the best one yet.”

A Tale of Two Writers

In the studio with host Dan Klefstad.

On this date two years ago, I was on WNIJ talking about my semi-autobiographical literary novel, Becoming Moon. This is a significant date for me, because it marked my entrance into a more serious era of writing.

Even though Becoming Moon is in a completely different genre, without it I would likely not have been launched into the Serenity series, which in turn has led to everything else that has happened since.

In many ways, although I’ve been writing since I was an early teen, I consider today my true writing anniversary, at least in a professional sense. Below is the link to the broadcast that ran on NPR’s Morning Edition on Dec. 7, 2015.
